Species Characters. H. lactifluorum. “Parasitic, thin, effused, cinnabar colored, ostiola bright red, perithecia white stuffed.” Spores 0.0012–0.0015 long 0.00030–0.00032 broad. The above description is copied from Schweinitz’s “Synopsis of the Fungi of Carolina.” Grows on Agarics. Parasitic. June. July–August.
