Join the New York State Museum for a special screening of 9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero, a documentary exploring the complex and deeply personal decisions that shaped the future of the World Trade Center site after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Following the devastation of 9/11, New Yorkers faced a defining question: what should happen to Ground Zero? This film examines the debate over rebuilding, remembrance, and renewal as families of victims, community members, city leaders, and others wrestled with how to honor those lost while imagining the future of Lower Manhattan.

Through the voices of those who experienced the aftermath and the historic public process that followed, 9/11: Reclaiming Ground Zero explores how a city came together to navigate grief, recovery, and the challenging work of rebuilding. The film offers a powerful reflection on the lasting impact of September 11 and the decisions that shaped the site as it exists today.
