Join in on this engaging and immersive series that lets you experience the Civil War through the eyes of Abraham Lincoln. Participants will read and discuss the rhetoric, political skill, and moral transformation of Lincoln through nine speeches chosen from throughout his career. Audience participation is both welcome and encouraged! Please feel free to bring questions for open discussion. Our program leader Giacomo Calabria is the author of the 2014 thriller The Great Abraham Lincoln Pocket Watch Conspiracy and has been praised by the Times Union as "a confident and masterful storyteller." This program has been made possible with a grant from the New York Council on the Humanities.

The NYS Museum will make available, on loan, a limited number of copies of Lincoln on the Civil War: Selected Speeches. Readings are available for download at http://www.abrahamlincolnonline.org/lincoln/speeches/speech.htm.
