Join NYSM Curator of Ethnography Dr. Gwen Saul on a guided tour of this exhibition examining the sources of inspiration for Indigenous artists across what is now New York.

Gallery Tour: Unveiled Wedding Wear from New York State
Location: New York Metropolis Hall

Wedding clothing holds memories, and pieces—dresses, shoes, suits, and head wear—are often preserved and passed to subsequent generations. A couple’s choices reveal historical information about both the individuals who wore them and those who made them. Unveil these stories with clothing expert Connie Frisbee-Houde as she highlights pieces from the exhibition, Unveiled: Wedding Wear in 19th-century New York.

Special screening of Change-Makers Along the Women’s Rights Corridor, Virtual Video Visits
Location: Huxley Theater

This short-film series celebrates yesterday’s and today’s NYS women as change-makers. Presented by 1st Amendment-1st Vote, Inc., this virtual video journey will take you to 11 historic sites along the Central New York Women’s Rights Corridor, credited as the “Birthplace of Women’s Rights in America.” The series is divided into five segments of virtual visits, many of which are guided by students. Run-time is approximately 45 minutes.
