AASLH 300 Technical Leaflets

This article originally appeared in an AASLH newsletter.
Since 1960, the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) has been publishing Technical Leaflets. These clear and succinct how-to guides have covered a wide range of subjects related to the practice of public history.
Our latest Technical Leaflet is the 300th in this series!
This Leaflet, “Forming a Local 250th Commission,” presents four strategies for forming a commission to commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026.
Local 250th commissions can organize government and tourism support for the commemoration, raise funds, and create strategy and common themes for history institutions to organize around and promote their efforts.
To celebrate this milestone, everyone has access to Technical Leaflet #300 for free! Read more...
