Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor: Apply Now! Sponsorships Available for 2019 Canal-Related Events
Festivals and events draw millions of people to canal communities and the Canal System each year for fun, recreation, history, music, local food, and natural beauty. The Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, in partnership with NYS Canal Corporation, is offering sponsorships of up to $500 for events or festivals taking place in the National Heritage Corridor from May through November 2019.
Eligible applicants include municipalities and nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations. Applications are due by February 15, 2019.
Qualifying events must promote or celebrate the distinctive historic, cultural, scenic, or recreational resources of the canal corridor. Events that celebrate the bicentennial period (1817-1825), encourage use of the New York State Canalway Water Trail, or participation in the Canalway Challenge (see below) will be given priority consideration.
