NYS Museum piecing together remains of revolutionary war soldiers recovered in Lake George

Bones dating back to the late 18th century found at a Lake George Village construction site in 2019 are in the process of being studied at the New York State Museum with eventual plans for reinternment in 2024.

What originally was thought to be 11 grave shafts discovered ended up being the remains of 44 people. None of the skeletons were intact and the majority of remains were found in a pile of dirt already removed from the site before archeologists were alerted. Read more...
